I'm due to be speaking at www.facebook.com/events/347141462018731/ and I'm trying to put something resembling a decent powerpoint presentation together so's I'm not just floundering around trying to think of what to say. The problem I've hit is that I don't have much in the way of direct comments from UK adoptees to include, so it sounds like I'm just saying this against (according to Gove) the 000s of "happy adoptees", thus ... do any of you have blogs or such like that I can quote from or anything like that, so that it doesn't just sound like I'm a lone voice? I can get tons and tons an tons of stuff about adoptees hating adoption, but they're all American or Australian or Canadian an such like, and so I don't want to risk being shouted down on the basis that I'm quoting from foreigners who have no idea what it's like over here (y'know, 'cause being legally severed from your entire history's different depending on what part of the world you're from - not). Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Also, I'd like to invite any other UK adoptees over to www.facebook.com/groups/49078494489/ since I'm absolutely certain that there's more than 22 of us, given the 000s adopted each year.
